Zusammenfassung:This paper aims to understand the evolution of the Brazilian digital payment methods market. Thus, it is intended to present to the reader an overview of the characteristics and configurations of the payment arrangements sector, since the beginning of the popularization of cards, until the most recent movements, given the new retail configurations, which have been established in online environments, called e-commerce. Furthermore, it is intended in this work, using the qualitative research, to identify the main motivations that encourage consumers to choose the payment method used in online shopping. It was possible to conclude that credit card is the payment method that most motivates consumers in e-commerce.
