The Effect of Flash Glucose Monitoring on Glycemic Control in Patients with Type 1 Diabetes

Introduction: Freestyle Libre Flash glucose monitoring system is a new approach to self-monitoring of glucose. We investigated the effect on glycaemic control of applying this system in patients with type 1 diabetes in a real world clinical setting. Materials and Methods: A total of 210 consecutive patients with type 1 diabetes were included in an observational study investigating the change in glycaemic control upon introducing Freestyle Libre Flash Glucose monitoring (FGM) system (Abbott Diabetes Care Ltd, Range Road Witney, Oxon OX29 OYL; UK).
