My Experience from the Research and Development of Syndiotactic 1, 2-polybutadiene

This paper deals with a proposal to the young polymer scientist from the old through the accidental discovery of the catalyst which gives low crystalline Syndiotactic 1, 2-polybutadiene. The key point of the discovery were the molar ratio of aluminum compound/water, and the structure of the ligands. Although the discovery was serendipitous, it would not have happened if careful observation and operation hypothesis were not made during the research.
