Zusammenfassung:Five British geographers visited China as guests of the Academia Sinica in August 1977, in order to study progress there in the geographical sciences. Visits were made to research institutes and the University of Peking, and special visits were made to Sian to examine the loess platform of Shensi Province, to Chengchow on the Yellow River, to Wuhan to examine the nature and control of the middle Yangtze River, to Kweilin to look at the spectacular karst landscape of south-west China, and to Canton.
