Two New Species of Dactylogyrus (Monogenea: Dactylogyridae) from Notropis scabriceps (Cope) and N. scepticus (Jordan and Gilbert) (Pisces: Cyprinidae)

Dactylogyrus newensis sp. n. is described from the New River shiner, Notropis scabriceps (Cope), and D. sceptici sp. n. from the sandbar shiner, N. scepticus (Jordan and Gilbert). Dactylogyrus newensis differs from its closest apparent relative, D. percobromus Monaco and Mizelle, most notably by having a sharp bend near the distal end of the cirrus. Dactylogyrus sceptici most closely resembles D. banghami Mizelle and Donahue, but differs by possessing a much longer and less arced cirrus.
