Six New Species of Gyrodactylus (Monogenea) from the Southeastern U.S

Six new species of Gyrodactylus are described from fishes of the southeastern U. S. as follows: G. asperus sp. n. from Notropis baileyi Suttkus and Raney, G. ictaluri sp. n. from Ictalurus punctatus (Raf.), G. lacustricolae sp. n. from Erimyzon sucetta (Lacépède), G. lambanus sp. n. from Notropis longirostris (Hay), G. nataliae sp. n. from Hybopsis amblops (Raf.), and G. trematoclithrus sp. n. from Lucania goodei Jordan. Fish hosts were collected from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Type specimens were deposited in the USNM Helm. Collection, Beltsville, Maryland.
