Zusammenfassung:As early as the Middle Bronze Age a flourishing industry in bronze is attested on the Levantine coast, but it is not until the Late Bronze Age that the archaeological data can be compared with the data from the texts of Ras Shamra. The terms designating these metals, a part of the local vocabulary of Ugarit, tlt (bronze) and brr(tin?), are the mark of a local culture of metallurgy.
