Zusammenfassung:A taxonomically isolated new genus is decribed to accommodate Orphanodendron bernalii Barneby & Grimes, sp. nov., from western Antioquia, Colombia. Discussion and illustration display an anomalous syndrome of morphological characters that equivocally suggests affinity to Caesalpiniodeae tribe Sclerolobieae Bentham (=Caesalpinieae sensu Polhill & Vidal).
