Zusammenfassung: | Tables are presented in this paper which can be used to obtain exact confidence interval estimates and hypothesis tests for the mean, $\mu$, and standard deviation, $\sigma$, of the logistic distribution with both parameters unknown. The inferences are based on the moment estimators $\mu$ and $\sigma$. A wide choice of confidence levels and test sizes is provided for random samples of size n = 4(1)20(5)30. The moment estimators are easily obtained and quite efficient. In addition, certain tables for using the maximum likelihood (ML) estimators, $\mu$ and $\sigma$, as presented by Antle, Klimko, and Harkness [1970] are completed in a little more detail. All of the required sampling distributions were based on 50,000 Monte Carlo runs for each n. |
