Zusammenfassung: | A new species, Rigodium adpressum (Musci: Rigodiaceae), is described and illustrated from the Andean Cordillera of Chile and Argentina where it grows in mountainous areas most commonly forested by southern beech (Nothofagus spp.). The new species has an arborescent habit similar to that of R. toxarion and R. brachypodium, but differs from them in several features of the stem and stipe leaves--most notably in their appressed position and the well-differentiated basal decurrencies and intramarginal band of cells. A chart comparing the distinctive characters of these three taxa is provided |
