A comparison of the glutaraldehyde coagulation test and total serum protein estimation as indicators of gamma globulin levels in neonatal ruminants

Results of the glutaraldehyde coagulation test and total serum protein levels were compared as a means of estimating serum gamma globulin levels in neonatal ruminants. Both tests were sensitive in detecting low immunoglobulin levels. Total serum protein was more useful because of its simplicity and...

Zusammenfassung:Results of the glutaraldehyde coagulation test and total serum protein levels were compared as a means of estimating serum gamma globulin levels in neonatal ruminants. Both tests were sensitive in detecting low immunoglobulin levels. Total serum protein was more useful because of its simplicity and quantitative nature when a variety of animal species were compared.
