Zusammenfassung:A filed observation on waves and long-period waves were conducted at the nearshore area of Naoetsu port during winter. Water surface elevations and water velocities were measured at 9 points inside and outside the Naoetsu port. The spectral properties of long-period waves were investigated. Comparing between observed long-period and bound waves calculated from primary wave spectra, it is confirmed that the long-period wave comporment in the nearshore area is mostly free wave.
