Zusammenfassung:In the new design practice for tunnel lining with steel-fiber-reinforced concrete, its tensile failure characteristics are defined by two parameters, i.e., tensile stress transmitted by steel fibers and the gradient of the tension-softening curve. The two parameters are determined on the basis of bending test results, then from the parameters the tensile strength of steel-fiber-reinforced concrete is calculated. This paper discusses the study on the method of bending tests for obtaining the tensile failure characteristics. By comparing the tensile strengths determined directly from tensile tests and those calculated from bending test results, the validity of the proposed test method was verified.
