Zusammenfassung: | We proposed a new evaluation method for pavement distress by fractal. Fractal means irregular shaped figures characterized by Hausdorff dimension. Pavement cracks are typical fractal figures. However, they have been evaluated by the empirical method such as PSI and MCI. Fractal analysis for pavement distress can lead to not only strictly mathematical method but also the comprehensive one that evaluates both pavement cracks and spatial variation of pavement profile and cross section. Especially, though the cracks has been classified to the three categories; linear, planar and alligator, fractal analysis can express them continuously by fractional dimension. |
