Acceptance and Appraisal of New Recommendations on Rescue Breathings and Chest Compressions in G2010 AHA-BLS Healthcare Provider Course Participants

We surveyed attitudes toward the new recommendations regarding rescue breathings and chest compressions in the 2010 CPR and ECC Guidelines (G2010) of the American Heart Association (AHA). G2010 AHA-BLS healthcare provider course (HCP) participants were questioned to determine their acceptance and appraisal as a practical guide of the three important recommendations : ‘Give a sufficient tidal volume to produce visible chest rise’, ‘Avoid hyperventilation’, and ‘Compression depth of at least 2 inches/5cm’.
