Zusammenfassung: | We report a case of a 15-month-old girl diagnosed with an ingested ballpoint pen spring into the epiglottis by chest X-ray. An urgent fiberoptic bronchoscopy was performed through a laryngeal mask airway following slow induction with sevoflurane. It was difficult to remove the spring. We performed direct laryngoscopy, and removed it with a forceps. The oro-tracheal tube was then inserted immediately and she was transferred to the intensive care unit. On postoperative day 3, the oro-tracheal tube was extubated. She was discharged on day 6 without complications. |
