Zusammenfassung: | In our clinic, the frontal cryocingulumotomy were performed on the 10 cases who were complaining of intractable pain caused by incurable diseases and other diseases. Frontal cryocingulumotomy was carried out by the frozen destruction using the cryosurgical apparatus devised by I. S. Cooper. In the standpoint of clinical view, excellent results were obtained in 3, good in 5, and poor in 2. The histoanatomical verification was done postmortem in 5 out of 10. It revealed that proper bilateral cryocingulumotomy seemed to be successful in the relief of the pain in comparison with the unilateral procedure. We can emphasize this cryocingulumotomy is simple and safe, and does not leave any neurological disturbances. |
