Zusammenfassung:The O 1s spectra for glasses in the systems Na2O-SiO2-A2O3 (A=Al, Ga, In and Y) were measured in order to obtain imformation about the effect of trivalent cation on the structure of soda-silicate glasses. The intensity of the low energy side of O 1s-line decreased with increasing Al2O3 and Ga2O3 content, which indicated that the two oxides act as network formers. The intensity of the low energy side of O 1s-line increased with increasing Y2O3 content, which indicated that Y2O3 acts as a network modifier and that In2O3 acts as an intermediate oxide.
