Zusammenfassung:Recently, there are demands for reduction of friction in the engine and transmission parts, in order to improve fuel efficiency. One way to reduce friction of sliding surfaces is by reduction of viscous resistance of oil film due to controlled micrometer scale surface texture. In this study, an indentation experiment using diamond tools was performed, and the basic plastic deformation phenomenon seen in 3D micro-nano forming are discussed in detail. It was found that the geometry of the tool tip has a large influence on the material’s deformation phenomenon near the tool’s edge plane.
