Zusammenfassung:A novel LED illumination for TFT‐LCD and general lighting was demonstrated. This configuration is achieved by utilizing a remote YAG:Ce3+ phosphor converter (RPC) to accompany blue LED chips (457 nm wavelength) array on a board. In this study, the experiment results indicate that the proposed illumination configuration can achieve high luminance efficiency, slim configuration and low color deviation for TFT‐LCD backlight and lighting applications. Additionally, the proposed configuration is low‐cost, can be manufactured quickly, and can be mass‐ produced economically.
