Zusammenfassung:For the first time, we have fabricated a novel Switchable Transmissive and Reflective(STR) LCD based on dual gap TN (Twisted‐Nematic) mode using a general a‐Si TFT process. This new technology makes ultra low powered LCD can be operated in reflective mode without power consumption of backlight in ordinary room light. Moreover our new LCD gives use superior outdoor visibility and enhanced portability than a normal TN mode. We will show vision as a future LCD mode with low power consumption for portable electronic devices.
