Zusammenfassung: | — The goal of this work is to synthesize Y2O3:Eu+3 of small size and high luminous efficiency using the oxalate co‐precipitation process. We find that pH, solution temperature, and calcining temperature determine particle size and morphology. Particles with the smallest mean diameter form at a pH of 4, solution temperature of 22°C, and a calcining temperature of 1000°C. Cubic and platelet/rod‐shaped particles precipitate at a high pH and irregularly shaped particles at a low pH. Powders with 2–3 mol% Eu produce the most efficient luminescence. Efficiency increases with calcining temperate as does mean crystallite size. |
