Zusammenfassung:We performed a complete study of optical properties of two crossed positive in‐plane retarders (positive A‐plates). We have shown that this configuration can improve the viewing angle performance of LCDs in much the same way as negative C‐plate. The method of construction of a negative C‐plate, optical properties and an implementation to optical compensation of different LCD modes is discussed.
