Zusammenfassung:The effect of overdrive addressing on the optical response of a twist nematic device was assessed both theoretically and experimentally. Experimental results on the transient optical response were in excellent agreement with the simulated responses, where the hydrodynamic flow and multiplexing addressing showed non‐negligible effects on director reorientation The “overdrive” method leads to dramatic improvements in device response time which approach a factor of six in some cases. Similar effects were found for an in‐plane switching device, which exhibits neither voltage decays nor optical bounce.,
