Zusammenfassung:In this paper, we share insights about citizenship from a research project that investigated the effects of a service-learning experience in a graduate adult education seminar with an explicitly critical pedagogical focus and activist placements. We analyze a subset of the findings related to students’ shifting conceptions of themselves as citizens and the factors that facilitated these shifts.
