THE CRIME INVESTIGATION ACTIVITY OF THE BORDER POLICE

Following analysis, it has been concluded that in order for the criminal prosecution activity to become more effective, legislative amendments are required that would allow the activity of border police officers to be carried out under the exclusive control of the prosecutors.Ministry representatives claim that the effectiveness of the judicial police is diminished because of their double subordination and that the proposed legislative amendments allow for a clear delineation between judicial and administrative functions and guarantee the status of the police officers in the border police, whose professional career will depend exclusively on how their activity is evaluated by the magistrate overseeing the prosecution.
