Zusammenfassung:In the light of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland of April 2, 1997, the President of the Republic of Poland is the supreme representative of the state and the guarantor of the continuity of state power, and is obliged to uphold the sovereignty and security of the state as well as the inviolability and integrity of its territory. In the constitution, as well as in other acts of statutory rank, the legislator granted the head of state the powers that are appropriate for the protection of state security and their citizens. The article presents in general terms the scope of powers of the President of the Republic of Poland, which, in the event of various threats, are used by the head of state in order to prevent them or minimize their effects.
