Post-combustion CO2 capture of methyl and nitro mixed-linker CAU-10

Methyl- and nitro-group-co-functionalized CAU-10, namely CAU-10-CH 3 -NO 2 , was synthesized and compared with mono-functionalized CAU-10 derivatives, CAU-10-CH 3 and CAU-10-NO 2 , as a CO 2 adsorbent. In this study, we report that methyl and/or nitro groups could increase CO 2 performance compared...

Zusammenfassung:Methyl- and nitro-group-co-functionalized CAU-10, namely CAU-10-CH 3 -NO 2 , was synthesized and compared with mono-functionalized CAU-10 derivatives, CAU-10-CH 3 and CAU-10-NO 2 , as a CO 2 adsorbent. In this study, we report that methyl and/or nitro groups could increase CO 2 performance compared to that of bare CAU-10. It is supposed that the hydrophobic character of the methyl group might support selective CO 2 uptake in humid conditions. Breakthrough experiments demonstrate that CAU-10-CH 3 -NO 2 , which is more hydrophobic than CAU-10-NO 2 , reduced the degradation of adsorption performance under dry conditions. CAU-10-CH 3 -NO 2 was considered a candidate suitable for an actual post-combustion CO 2 adsorption process. Graphical abstract
