Zusammenfassung: | We thank Dr Karamanoukian and Dr Glick for their thoughtful comments concerning our report. We could not more earnestly support Dr Karamanoukian's and Dr Glick's call for a multidisciplinary approach to the management of a pregnancy in which a fetal anomaly has been identified; indeed, our institution has followed the multidisciplinary team counseling model for many years, and we are absolutely convinced of the value of this approach. Had our patient's omphalocele been detected prenatally, the parents would most certainly have been counseled in precisely the manner advocated by Dr Karamanoukian and Dr Glick; we have found the multidisciplinary approach to be remarkably effective and beneficial. |
