Zusammenfassung: | Rempel et al, in their paper describing the growth of children with cerebral palsy who received a gastrostomy as part of their overall management, present important information concerning the management of children with these problems. Altered nutritional status in comparison to established norms is a common finding in this population. Its proper management is confusing, because there have been several theories as to the cause of poor growth in these children. As the authors point out, the presence of obesity does not facilitate care and can interfere with already limited motor skills. |
