Regaining control of the television set

In response to Dr Strasburger's (Pediatrics 1989;83: 446-448) admonishment, I recently attempted to "regain control of the television set." Although the odds were against me, three teenagers to one parent, I was sure that his expert and righteous guidance would carry me to victory over the brain dead viewers. It was a fierce battle. The "enemy" was dug in, unwilling to be moved from such impregnable positions as the sofa, the floor, and the chair. Only a frontal assault, requiring hand to hand combat, could win the day.
