Zusammenfassung: | We agree with the basic point of the letter of Drs Cembrowski and Garber that information in our paper1 is not sufficient for judging the accuracy of the hematofluorometry assay for total blood bilirubin in a way that would satisfy standard evaluation methodology. Data which answer almost all the questions of Cembrowski and Barber are included in a paper by Cashore et al2 which should have been published simultaneously with our paper but was inadvertantly delayed. The authors from Bell Laboratories (W.E.B., J.E., and A.A.L.) apologize for being remiss in reporting data concerning all the standard evaluation tests. Such a report is in preparation. |
