Zusammenfassung: | The article "Recurrent Abdominal Pain" by Drs. Stone and Barbero contains data of such importance that comment appears mandatory.
Under the section "X-ray and Laboratory Studies" the following is included: "An electroencephalogram was obtained in 70% of the patients. Of these 7% were described as epileptiform. Of the remainder, findings such as 14 and 6 per second spikes were reported in 16%, and instances of excess fast and slow activity were mentioned in 36%."
It is apparent that significant electroencephalognaphic abnormalities were present in approximately 50% of the patients on whom this examination was performed. |
