O gwarach białoruskich na Litwie

The author reviews Mirosław Jankowiak’s study Lexicon of Belarusian Dialects in Lithuania. The Linguistic Heritage of the Baltic-Slavic Borderland (Prague 2022). In her opinion, it is a cognitively valuable study of the dialect vocabulary beyond the borders of Belarus. Set methodologically in the area of several linguistic sub-disciplines – dialectology, sociolinguistics, linguistic geography, dialect lexicography – it presents a comprehensive description of Belarusian dialect lexis historically shaped and functioning today in the conditions of the multi-ethnic Baltic-Slavic borderland.
