Layer-silicates of the kaolinite type (kaolinite, nacrite, dickite, halloysite) can incorporate pyridine-N-oxide and picolin-N-oxides inbetween the silicate layers, thus forming intercalation compounds. The paper deals with the preparation of the compounds, their compositions, the increase of the basal spacings and the arrangement of the guest molecules within the host-lattice.
