Measurements of C 2 Radicals in Flames with a Tunable Dye-Laser

By laser excited fluorescence using extra-cavity techniques the C 2 (a 3 π u ) radical concentration in an acetylene oxygen atom flame was measured in comparison to the emission intensity from C 2 (d 3 π g ) radicals which are produced by chemiluminescent reactions.
