Acute Nonhemodynamic Pulmonary Edema with Nifedipine in Primary Pulmonary Hypertension

A 34-year-old man with primary pulmonary hypertension developed acute nonhemodynamic pulmonary edema after a loading dose of nifedipine. Changes of the vascular permeability induced by the drug acting on the arteriolar wall of the capillary system could be an explanation. (Chest 1991; 100:563-64)
