Zusammenfassung: | This work compares the landscapes built by Mennonites and Mestizos of Chihuahua, Mexico. This comparison was made through the characterization of land cover and land use, and by obtaining landscape ecology metrics in plots of both social groups. The results show that the Mennonites have built more intensive agricultural landscapes, in a process of organization and appropriation of space linked to their history and religion. These findings help to understand the evolution of cultural landscapes in Mexico and elsewhere in Latin America, where there are colonies of Mennonite population, or where their immigration continues. |
