Zusammenfassung:This paper describes a method to reduce the vertical bending vibration of high speed trains using car body interconnecting dampers. A multi-body dynamics method, which is applied to automatic generation of equations of motion of rigid body systems, has been enhanced to the system including a primary bending mode. Equations of motion were automatically derived for car bodies interconnected by vertical dampers. Riding comfort analysis showed that the dampers having the damping constant of 1.0 × 105 Ns/m can reduce the riding comfort level by 2 to 3 dB.
