Zusammenfassung: | Residual stress seems to be a main factor controlling the fracture of dissimilar materials such as metal/ceramic bonded materials. In this study, we develop a simple method to analyze the residual stress caused by the thermal mismatch of dissimilar materials, using the boundary element method. The present results present a stress singularity at the edge of the interface and therefore it can be supposed that a fracture occurs at the edge of the interface into either material. This fracture behavior is evaluated by σ θmax criterion with the use of the obtained numerical results on the stress distribution around the edge point and discussed in comparison with the experimental results. |
