Effect of Pressure on Solubility of DL-Mandelic Acid in Water
Solubility of DL-mandelic acid in water was measured at 176 to 294 MPa and 298 to 308K. Crystallization tests of DL-mandelic acid were carried out and the concentration in the solution separated from crystals was measured. These results were studied on the basis of crystallization theory under atmos...

Zusammenfassung: | Solubility of DL-mandelic acid in water was measured at 176 to 294 MPa and 298 to 308K. Crystallization tests of DL-mandelic acid were carried out and the concentration in the solution separated from crystals was measured. These results were studied on the basis of crystallization theory under atmospheric pressure, and the rate of increasing pressure change and the period of time kept at an operating pressure turned out to affect the amount of precipitated crystals. The possibility of high-pressure crystallization of a solute from an aqueous solution is discussed. |
