Zusammenfassung:Two methods are proposed to calculate the size distribution function of crystal particles, which are moving in a roll cellular Bénard convection field, on the basis of a theoretical model describing their motion. In the first method, the behavior of crystal particles in real space is transformed into the motion in dynamical system in a phase space, and then the progress of the particle size distribution function is derived by use of continum approximation. In the second method, the motions of crystal particles within a given range of orbit are treated as a group but the motions of individual particles are not analysed. The particle size distribution calculated by the two methods agreed with each other. The former method gives more accurate results in less computing time, but the latter method would be superior to the former when applied to more complex systems.
