Vapor-Liquid Equilibrum Data for the System : Cyclohexane-n-Heptane at Atmospheric Pressure

Vapor-liquid equilibrium data are reported for the cyclohexane-n-heptane system at atmospheric pressure. This system shows slight deviations from an ideal solution. The activity coefficients were calculated from the experimental data, taking the nonideality of the vapor phase into account with Tsonopoulous's equation. Materials were distilled to a purity of 99.9% and no significant impurities were detected by gas chromatograph. The observed data were well correlated using activity coefficient equations (van Laar, Margules, Wilson) and were found to be thermodynamically consistent by the method of Herington.
