Synthesis of Organosoluble Poly(arylene ether)s via Ullmann Etherification Polymerization

Cu(PPh3)3Br-catalyzed Ullmann etherification polymerization of bisphenols 1A/1B with aromatic dibromides 2a–d afforded a series of poly(arylene ether)s 3Aa–d and 3Ba–d. The resulting poly(arylene ether)s have good thermal stability and organosolubility.
