Fluoro-substituted phenyleneethynylenes are synthesized by Sonogashira coupling and acetylide-nucleophilic substitution of fluorobenzenes. Fluoro-substitution of benzenes enables deep LUMO potential, and CF3-substitution provides high electron mobility in deposited film (μ = 5.5 × 10−2 cm2 V−1 s−1)....
