Zusammenfassung:A tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) derivative with a cytosine moiety was designed and synthesized as a bi-functional molecule with both electron-donating and proton-accepting abilities. In the crystal of I3− salt, TTF–cytosine dyad formed a hemiprotonated dimer through triple hydrogen-bonds with radical cationic state of the TTF moieties.
