Description of bibliographic references of digital sources -Release of SIST 02 Supplements

Electronic documents have different features from those of ordinary paper documents. While electronic documents are sent to anybody at less cost, their sources are unlikely located definitely. It is because locations referred to vary, or sometimes have gone away. So that there are some items to be reminded when ones refer to sources of electronic documents. As a standard for referring electronic documents SIST 02 Supplements were made called Description of Bibliographic References for Digital Sources, which are complied with SIST 02. Then ones are allowed to make references description of paper and digital sources according to them. The standard will be issued publicly in Fall of 2001. The author describes basic thought in making the standard, and examples of description. Digital sources are in the midst of changing, so that it is anticipated that the standard will become refined in the course of ones' using it. Some relation to the equivalent international standard is mentioned.
