Zusammenfassung: | Schwannoma, also known as neurilemmoma, is a benign tumor originating from Schwann cells and may involve any nerve in the body but its most common occurrence is in the head and neck region. When it involves a nerve of face, it is often confused with dermoid cyst. We present the case of a 23-year-old male patient with Schwannoma arising from the area just below the lateral canthus of the left eye where the initial diagnostic hypothesis was dermoid cyst but later confirmed as Schwannoma on histopathological analysis. |
