Zusammenfassung: | Visceral artery aneurysms are well described in the surgical literature. Specifically, inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery aneurysms are exceedingly rare and only minimal data are available to guide management decisions. In the majority of published case reports surgical therapy or angiographic intervention is recommended. This is a case report of a ruptured inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery aneurysm associated with complete occlusion of the superior mesenteric artery, precluding surgical or angiographic intervention. A review of the literature and the rationale for nonoperative, medical management of this uncommon surgical entity is the subject of this article. |
