Zusammenfassung:This study examines how partisan control of state government influences three important state wage policies over the 1968 – 2018 period: minimum wage laws, prevailing wage laws, and right-to-work laws. Using time series fixed-effects regression and probit event history analysis we find that Unified Democratic control of a state’s government results in more egalitarian wage policies while Unified Republican control leads to less egalitarian wage policies.
